The above, as well as the following cartoons, were drawn by a man held in immigration detention on Manus Island. He attempted to reach Australia by boat after July 19, 2013, when the Rudd government introduced mandatory offshore detention. The author’s pen name is ‘Eaten Fish’. Some details have been redacted to protect his identity.
