Dr. Geoff Wells is an internationally experienced corporate and academic leader, and consultant. He is a former Dean: External Engagement, University of South Australia Business School. He has developed graduate programs in sustainable business and has published articles and books on this topic. He has recently been a senior researcher on major Federal research grants modelling local management responses to climate change, and has a track record of funded research in economic valuation methods in natural resource management. His teaching of graduate courses in leadership, organisation, strategy, and change has been recognised with a number of excellence in teaching awards. Dr. Wells has managed companies in a range of industries, including corporate sustainability, sustainable agribusiness, molecular biology, software development, telecommunications, and audio electronics, both in the US and in Australia. He has consulted widely in both countries, as well as in the United Kingdom, as a corporate advisor to CEO’s and Boards of Directors in strategy, strategic financial modelling, organisational development, business ethics and governance, and business sustainability. He has consulted to the Local Government Association of South Australia and many South Australian local councils on strategic financial modelling and management, on management responses to climate change, and on leadership and organisational processes. Dr Wells is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) with the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes. He is currently Director, Rural Communities Australia, a not-for-profit organisation supporting local economic development, health and well-being, environmental integrity, and local governance in Australia rural towns and settlements.
