As promised, New Matilda is hosting a quiz night to make this whole fundraising caper a bit more interesting. It’s on at the Beauchamp Hotel (267 Oxford St, Sydney) on Tuesday 30th November at 6.30pm. Comedian around town Dave Bloustein will MC the night so set aside the date and start getting a table together.

New Matilda is no ordinary website and we won’t be quizzing you on capital cities and Test Match results. We’ll be pitching questions from your favourite New Matilda writers, for starters. We’re also amassing questions from readers.
Yes, readers, we want your questions. If you can’t make the big event, can speak in Aaron Sorkin, and would like to contribute, send us your curliest questions at enquiries AT newmatilda.com with Quiz Night in the subject line. Latte belt trivia, policy tragic ephemera, obscure factoids: we want it all. We’ve got lots of other ideas in the works so keep an eye on the website for more details.
NM eds Marni and Catri will also be in the firing line for questions about the website and this fundraising campaign. We’re going to let someone else moderate these, so don’t hold back. Ask us whatever questions you’ve been holding onto about the website and our plans.
We’ve got lots of prizes too: movie tickets, books, and fabulous artworks. In addition, there will be spot prizes just for NM supporters. You’ll be able to sign up on the night. If you haven’t done so yet, our fundraising page is here.
NITTY GRITTY:
TABLES: A team table for 4-6 people costs $110. This includes a mezze platter to keep you going. Send us an email if your team wants vegetarian food.
INDIVIDUALS: Individuals can get in on the action for $20. We’ll seat you at a table with 5 others, dependent on availability.
Numbers are strictly capped so get in early and form a table. You’ll need to book and pay through Eventbrite.
