Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Malvern East teenager Owen Clune.

Owen is the son of well-known independent media writer, Bronwen Clune.

Owen, aged 14, was last seen around 8am yesterday morning at his home on Thornbury Crescent.

Police report that Owen told his father he was going to his school in Malvern, however he never arrived.

A police statement said: “Around 12.45pm Owen’s step mother arrived home and his school bag and uniform were still in the house.

“It is not known what Owen was wearing when he left home and he has no access to a mobile phone or cash.

“He is savvy with public transport and may have travelled from Malvern using those methods.”

Police said they had concerns for Owen’s welfare, as his disappearance is considered out of character.

Owen is of Caucasian appearance, is around 176 cm tall, slim build with short dark hair.

Anyone who sees Owen is urged to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
