Human Rights education opportunities

The Human Rights Act for Australia campaign will hold a series of meeting in schools in April. The campaign would like to hold more such events.

If you are a teacher or involved with a school, we would be happy to provide you with a speaker to discuss the importance of human rights and the need for Australia to catch with other Western countries like the United Kingdom and New Zealand by introducing a Human Rights Act. We would also discuss basic civics such as how a law is made and the structure of our democracy.

Launched in 2004, New Matilda is one of Australia's oldest online independent publications. It's focus is on investigative journalism and analysis, with occasional smart arsery thrown in for reasons of sanity. New Matilda is owned and edited by Walkley Award and Human Rights Award winning journalist Chris Graham.
