The world lost a rare and courageous individual this week with the murder of Russian investigative reporter Anna Politkovskaya. The award-winning journalist, whose coverage for Russian newspaperNovaya Gazeta consistently held the Putin Government to account, was in Australia for the Sydney Writers Festival in May.
