Vote Now In The newmatilda.com Prize For Political Cartooning

By New Matilda

April 18, 2009

Our annual political cartooning competition is now in its fourth week. We have had a terrific range of entries so far. Winners of the first three heats are:

Heat One: Matt Boulton Heat Two: Ian Martin Heat Three: Matt Bissett-Johnson

Heat winners receive $250 and go into the competition final in June with the chance to win a first prize of $6000. This year’s judges are Bill Leak, Annabel Crabb and Peter Broelman.

Readers don’t miss out either. By voting for your favourite cartoon each week, you have the chance to win some great prizes including books from MUP, Scribe Publications, tickets to the Sydney Writers Festival, DVDs from Hopscotch Films plus film tickets from Hopscotch, Icon and Footprint Films.

Check out the fantastic entries in the latest heat and vote for your favourite one here. You can also view all of the cartoons entered in previous heats.

Cartoonists still have time to enter in the competition but places are filling up fast with a few weeks to go until the heats close. Thank you to everyone who has sent us cartoons and cast their votes so far. Stay tuned for further updates.
